Tommy Hilfiger as Possible Cricket Sponsor

I belong to a Cricket Club and meet up with like minded people every weekend if possible. I have always enjoyed playing cricket, right from being a little boy. For some reason football didn't have the same attraction as playing cricket. From being ten years old, when my mum and dad bought me my first cricket bat and ball I have been hooked.

The Cricket Club always like to play on a Saturday afternoon if possible, weather permitting, and we usually have quite a crowd of people watching. I like to wear my Tommy Hilfiger shirt and my wife always wears her Tommy Hilfiger cardigan. The Cricket pavilion is very old and we have noticed that when it is wet weather the roof is beginning to leak. It has been like this for some time now but the Cricket Club hasn't got the money to afford for it to be repaired. However, the last time it rained we realised we would have to think of ways to raise the money. We came up with different suggestions such as raffles, car boot sales, bring and buy but we still didn't think we would be able to raise the amount of money that was needed to repair the roof. Then I suddenly had a brilliant idea. Looking around I had noticed just how many people wore Tommy Hilfiger shirts and a lot of the women had on a Tommy Hilfiger cardigan. Would Tommy Hilfiger be willing to be a cricket sponsor?

CricketEveryone seemed to think that this was an excellent idea and I was given the task of approaching the company for sponsorship. I sent off my letter and waited for a reply. Meanwhile we held a raffle with a Tommy Hilfiger Shirt and cardigan as first prize. This brought in quite a large amount of money and we also had a bring and buy sale which added to our fund. It was certainly looking as though a new roof might be possible if we could just raise a few hundred pounds more. The car boot sale went very well with lots of people eager to snap up some bargains. We were doing very well indeed but I still was waiting to hear if Tommy Hilfiger was willing to be a cricket sponsor. I had almost given up hope when I received the letter that brightened up everybody's day. Tommy Hilfiger was only too pleased to be a cricket sponsor. It was just what we needed to give us that extra money for the new roof.

The work is now underway and by the end of the year the leaking roof will have been replaced together with other little repairs that needed doing. The pavilion will then be given a fresh coat of paint and new benches placed outside for spectators. The members of the Cricket Club can't wait for the finished result which was all made possible by the sponsorship of Tommy Hilfiger. We can't thank him enough.
